Women On Mission Ministry
First Baptist Church has two Women on Mission groups:
Baptist Women - meets in the chapel at First Baptist Church at 1:30 p.m. on the 1st Tuesday of each month beginning in September, through December and the 1st Tuesday of March the following year. Baptist Women encourages mission projects, sets and promotes 3 specific mission offerings: Dixie Jackson State Missions, Annie Armstrong National Missions and Lottie Moon International Missions. Each month the Baptist Women select a specific mission and do work for that mission. Some local mission projects are: God’s Provision Clothes Closet, Food Pantry, Operation Christmas Child, Arkansas Children’s home and more.
Caring Touch quilting ministry meets at 1:00 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month beginning in September and going until May of the following year in the Fellowship Hall (gymansium) of First Baptist Church. Members of Caring Touch stitch quilts of all sizes, from baby size to king size. They also stitch place mats, Bible carriers and more. These items are then donated to ministries such as Promise House in Little Rock, Concepts of Truth in Wynne and others. Once a year Caring Touch holds a quilting show to sell the quilted items. Portions of the proceeds go to various mission projects.
The goal of Women on Mission is to inform and inspire the Christian Baptist women to influence their world for Christ.
